Legal Question in Personal Injury in Rhode Island

I had an eye and lip wax peel in Wisconsin at a beauty school. The skin was burned under my eyebrows and the skin on my upper lip was ripped off. The next day I had to fly to Boston and the condition on my eyes and lip were getting worse. I went to the North Providence Urgent Care where they gave me an RX for antibiotics & pain cream and a tenuous shot. The doctor said either the wax was too hot or the chemicals weren't mixed properly. He said my eyes are contracting. They are red, burning and flaking. It is so painful and also embarrassing and emotionally difficult. I will be having major shoulder and arm surgery in Boston this month and recuperating in Rhode Island with family members at least until the end of May. My question is where do I get a lawyer - in Wisconsin where this happened or in Rhode Island where I was treated and will be staying for awhile? Thank you!

You will need to hire an attorney in Wisconsin where the negligent act was committed. As I am unfamiliar with Wisconsin law, I am unable to discuss the merits of your case. I would act quickly, however, because there will most certainly be a statute of limitations which bars the time in which you can file a lawsuit. My recommendation is to check with the local bar association to find a talented personal injury attorney in the area.

Best of luck.
