Legal Question in Banking Law in South Carolina

credit problem

We have banked with our local bank for 10 years and recently discovered that our credit had not been accepted by the credit bureau because of an error when it was being sent. For 10 years we have had excellent credit with our bank and now we have to start over because our credit score is very poor. We tried purchasing a vehicle and have not been able to. Is our bank suppose to step up and take fault or are they not responsible?
