Returning a automobile

Is there a time period in which I may return an automobile after purchase without harm to my credit?

Unless the automobile is defective, then you cannot rescind the sale in South Carolina. The three (3) day right of rescission which applies to certain real estate transactions and home solicitation sales is not applicable to your normal automobile transaction. If there is something wrong with the autombile you may bring an action for fraud, breach of warranty etc. against the dealer/manufacturer and name the lender as a defendant, but any late payments will probably show up on your credit report.
