does my son need an attorney

my 18 year old is accused of car breaking, petty larceny and 10 counts of malicious injury to personal property. he has no criminal record. two of the charges are at magistrate court, the car breaking is at general sessions. he was released while still drunk and under the influence of pills, he was first taken to jail for public drunk then released that is when he vandalized the property and was taken back to jail. does he need an attorney?

The fact that he has no record has minimal importance. He has a serious felony pending in general sessions, and of course, will also have to defend himself in magistrates court. My standard advise is: if you have an accounting problem, see an accountant, if you have a medical problem, see a doctor, and if you have a legal problem, see a lawyer. Your son my be viewed by a judge as an individual that needs to be punished. I would certainly retain an attorney if it was my son. Good luck. Robert Johnston (832) 828-1137
