Would i have to testify again at a retrial? I was just a character witness ask just personal questions about the defendent. I have no knowledge of the actual crime. The last trail was a hung jury. i really don't want to testify again.

That depends on who ever called you as a witness. If you are sent a subpoena to appear in court then you have to comply with it. If you receive one, you can always show it to a lawyer for a legal opinion.
