if the victim does not show up for trail does the charge get dropped for the abuser?

Not automatically. It all depends on various things, such as how serious it was, if there is other evidence in addition to the victim's testimony, if its a first offense, second offense, etc. There are yet other things. You should meet with an attorney who can go over everything with you.
