Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

THere has been no affair or physical abuse in the marriage. I have however, not treated her right and have emotionally abused her. I have been getting help for over 2 months to the day on physical healing (anti-depressant), spiritual healing (christian support team) and psychological healing (marriage counceling). My wife will not engage in counceling at the current time. She does not seem interested in this presently. I am doing everything I can to reconcile our marriage. The type of behavior my wife is expressing has never been seen before by me or any of her closest friends. I want to know, since she is a full-time student and has no income what my rights are during a 30-45 day separation? Mainly financially. I am not the one seeking divorce of any kind. I pay for everything.

Until the Court addresses the financial issues, there are no requirements that you do anything. As for what you "should" do to try to help reconcile, you need to discuss those issues with your counselors, as the attorneys can only help with the ending of the marriage and not with the saving of it.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
