Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

child custody

hello, I have a two year old son.I would like to know if I would be able to get full custody of my son. His father is 20 about to turn 21, smokes weed and drinks alot, could rarely keep a job and rarely wants to see his son but when he does we have huge arguments. I am 18 and in high school about to graduate this month and go to college. Please let me know if there's a chance I could win full custody of my baby so that I can have full say-so as to when he sees his father.

Re: child custody

The court will make all custody dicisions based on what is in the best interest of the child. Given what you've said, it sounds like you would win custody, especially since it doesn't sound like he would fight you for it. As far as you having "full say-so" as to visitation, that might not be so easy. The court will generally set up visitation as to when ever the two of you can agree, or a set visitation schedule. If you have concerns about the welfare of your child during visitation, you can request that all visiation be supervised. I hope this helps to answer your question.
