Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

divorce

My husband and I were married in Las Vegas in August of 2005. We now want a divorce and have a mutually consenting and signed seperation agreement. We live in South Carolina and SC law requires a 1 year waiting period. Can we get a divorce or anullment faster in Nevada or anywhere. We have no children and agree completely on our seperation agreement. Any suggestions?

Re: divorce

In all likelihood, only SC will have jurisdiction to grant you a divorce, since you are both residents of SC. If you want to know whether another state can do it, you will need to consult an attorney licensed there.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
