Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Does my husband get the same visitation rights after he marries?

My ex is planning to marry and so will now be living with his new bride as well as her 4 children. Their house is quite small and am sure MY children will be relagated to a floor with a blanket the evenings they are to stay. As you can imagine, I'd rather my children no be treated as second hand citizens. Can I force them to have a seperate room and beds dedicated to them? Or, since my children are girl teenagers and the other woman has boy teeneagers, could we not cancel the overnight visits in trade for more daytime visits. I am worried that my ex and his new bride will not pu appropriate restrictions on activities that I would find inappropriate for these ages.

You can bring an action to ask the Court to institute the changes/requirements that you mentioned. The burden will be on you to prove (a) something is occurring there that is not in the children's best interest and (b) that what you seek IS in their best interest.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
