~Moving Forward~

When I had my son, his father (J) & I were not married but his name is on the birth cert. I am now married to another man & the two of us are responsible for my son. J rarley pays child support & only sees my son about two times a month. I want to move forward with my life. How can I do this? J will not surender rights even though my new husband is very willing to adopt & he very rarley pays child support. What are my options?

If the father will not consent to your new husband adopting the child, then it is unlikely that you will be able to terminate his rights to force the adoption, based upon the limited facts you provided. However, there may be other factors in your case that could change the outcome.
