Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

iF YOU HAVE AN ORDER OF PROTECTION AGAINST YOUR HUSBAND THAT YOU ARE IN THE PROCESS OF DIVORCING AND DECIDE TO TALK TO HIM TO TRY TO WORK OUT SOME OF THE ISSUES, DOES THAT MEAN THAT IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO WORK THINGS OUT AMICABLY , THE ORDER OF PROTECTION IS NO LONGER VALID? THIS IS IN THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA. IS IT EVEN LEGAL FOR ME TO SIT AND MEET WITH HIM?

If the Order of Protection prohibits HIM from unwanted contact toward YOU, there should not be a problem with you initiating a discussion with him. If both parties act reasonably, having discussions about settlement can be quite fruitful.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
