Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in South Carolina

Apartment lease agreements

If you sign a renewal lease before your current lease expires and you decide that you want to move out by the time your current lease expires(on May 30,2008). Could you be penalized under the terms of the renewal lease even though that lease would actually begin on June 1, 2008?

Re: Apartment lease agreements

Normally in all lease deed there is a notice clause, providing for giving notice in case where lease is required to be prematurely terminated.

So copy of lease agreement is required to be perused before giving you any sort of legal advice. The terms and condition specified in lease deed will decide, whether u can be penalized or not.

One thing is required to be specified, that by executing renewal clause, you are not creating a new lease deed, but only extending the time of old lease deed.
