Legal Question in Real Estate Law in South Carolina

How do you change heirs property in Charleston County, South Carolina?

I am included in heirs property in Charleston County, South Carolina. Only five relatives have been paying the property taxes for the past 10 years. How can we change the deed from our great-great grandfather's name into one of the five that is paying the property tax?

Deed for property in South Carolina

You can transfer a deed from one party to another. Each state has it's own requirements. If the propertyis located in SC, that is where the deed will belocated, too.

You need to contact an SC lawyer, and hire him/herto do this. I would not recommend transferring adeed on your own, unless you have experience with doingthe same, IN SOUTH CAROLINA.

You will also need the assent (agreement) of the personor people who currently "own" the property (are namedon the deed).
