Legal Question in Real Estate Law in South Carolina

Lot not Buildable

I bought a lot to build a house. While trying to lay foundation, they hit a spring. The lot is unbuildable as it. I can not afford to fix the lot. Is the original developer of the property legally responsible for making the lot buildable?

Re: Lot not Buildable

Its possible. You should have an attorney review your closing file, especially the Purchase Agreement to see if there were any warranties or represenation about the lot being buildable or in respects to the spring.
