Legal Question in Workers Comp in South Carolina

I hurt my back lifting a 240 pound man on a stretcher at 8:40 in the am. Then I continues to work but I also notified my dispatcher that I had hurt my back. At 3:4o in he afternoon, I was lifting a patient on a stretcher up some steps in a house and I then hurt my back again. I then contacted dispatch again along with my supervisor.I then went to the doctor and they said I had a pulled muscle in my back. Well my work made me go to another doctor wo that I had a ruptored disc. Then they sent me to another doctor who suggested I should have a MRI. Well then my employer decided to turn my case into workers comp. I had my MRI done and went back for a follow up. The docor then said There was nothing wrong wwith my back it had to be a muscle that was pulled. Then sent me pt and to a pain management doctor. She also looked at my MRI and said there was nothing wrong with my back. I continued pt an I received my results from my MRI in th mail and it said that I had a bulging disc and a hyper extended facet. I went back to the pain mangment doctor and I had to point out that the paper work stated that I had a bulging disc and a hyper extended facet. She then stated well that is where your pain is coming from. She said I should get a epidural and a cortizone shot in my back. Well It has been 3 months since I was injured and I am going on 3 weeks since she said that I should get shots. What should I do about my job waiting 5 weeks before they turned my injury into workers comp and what should I do about the dortors telling that there was nothing wrong with me

I'm sorry for what you have been through. Its obviously been a lot.

I can appreciate your questions about what you can do about the employer taking 5 weeks and what the doctors said. But I think the important things to be considering right now is how to get you the treatment that you need and to see to it that you are being properly covered by the WC insurance.

You need to have a discussion with a WC attorney. There is some information that is needed. You did a good job of explaining what has happened, but a lawyer would need some more.

You are free to call. Our firm is in Myrtle Beach, but we take cases throughout the entire state.
