Legal Question in Bankruptcy in South Dakota

I am behind on payments on my credit cards. One of the companies is turning me over to collections. I am behind because of getting my hours cut at work. My question is: if i am paying even $30 per month and they accept that payment even though my monthly payment is to be alot more can they still turn me over to a collection agency?? they still accepted the $30

Yes, they can attempt to collect the entire amount even though they accepted $30.

That happens when you breach the minimum payment agreement. You may want to consider consulting with a reputable credit counselor such as Consumer Credit Counseling at Lutheran Social Services to see if they can work with your budget and get creditors to accept a new plan of payment.
