Refusal to accept payment on debt

Sir , Ihave an account at a nation wide store an it became over 30 day late they roll it over an charge interest which is fine but now they turned it over to a collection company which insist I sened payment to them but I have been sending my payment to the companey i have the account with . Since i feel behind on the account i have sent the company a check for 100.00$ per week .Now the collection says they will be re turning the check and show NONE PAYMENT.Isnt' there a federal or state law about refusal? If im sending payment on a revolving and they ecepted payment isnt this a contract in its self? what are my options? Iwill cotiniue to send my cks weekly evev if they refuse and send them back.My contract is not with the collection company its with the store.Am i wrong or am i right.

You are wrong! When a company assigns a debt to a collection agency, the agency stands in the shoes of the company.
