Legal Question in Business Law in Tennessee

My company recently attempted to purchase some floor material. We originally placed an order with a big US company (we will call it company A). They put us off for months. So, we finally canceled our order through them. We searched around and found a company overseas that carries the same material at much lower cost. We were working out the details of the order when company A found out about it. It just so happens that they order from this overseas company as well. Company A threatened the overseas company with losing their business if the overseas company did business with us. Since company A is a much larger supplier than we are, the overseas company chose not to do business with us. Since company A is a United States business, is there anything I can do about this?

As a Franchise Attorney I can say the following. Do you remember the movie called "Dirty Harry" where Client Eastwood (playing the SF detective Dirty Harry) points his .457 Magnum revolver at the suspect and asks "How luck do you feel, Punk?" It's really the same question here (minus the "Punk" reference). Pay an attorney a ton of money to sue company A, with little or no likelihood of success, or find another distributor of the flooring material. It's a buyer's world out there right now and there are probably more than just this one overseas company selling the flooring. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice. Or, contact me, . . if you're feeling lucky.
