Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Tennessee

My brother came to me wanting me to co sign on a trucking school loan. I let my credit be checked however when I found out could sign I decline and did not sign anything. This was two years ago. Now I get letter in mail from a collection company stating I owe $ 9,000 and has been put on my credit. I did not sign or agree to anything. I really need some help.

If you did not enter into an agreement to co-sign this loan, and you are now being harassed for a debt you do not owe, you may have a claim under the FDCPA. Even if you did co-sign for this loan, depending on the methods they are using to collect this debt you may have a claim under the FDCPA. Please feel free to contact me at 800-NOT-FAIR x167 to discuss. I would be happy to answer your questions.
