Legal Question in Criminal Law in Tennessee

Drinking

One night I drank a little too much and passed out in a field at a party. Two of my friends decided they would carry me home but they didn't know I had moved. They carried me to the home where I used to live. anyhow I woke up the next morning in a van that belongs to the people that live there now and I was arrested for Public Intoxication. When I got to the jail i found out that someone that works at the jail had added theft to the charges because when the cop got me out of the vehicle there were pills in my lap that belonged to the woman that owned the van. When I got to court the judge added a felony, burglary of an automobile to the charges and I bound it over to the grand jury, Now in a few days I have to go to court. I'm so lost, what should I do?

Re: Drinking

Dear Drinking

First and foremost, YOU NEED A LAWYER. The charges against you are very serious and may expose you to serving jail time with permanent felony convictions on your record. If you can not afford an attorney, the court must appoint one to represent you. If you have an appointed lawyer or a hired lawyer, your questions should be directed to that lawyer. If you would like to discuss your case, you may contact my office at the numbers provided on our website located at TennesseeDefense.com. The consultation is free and confidential.
