FIRST:

Don't confuse being "charged" with being "convicted."

A "charge" is only an accusation.

A "conviction" is a finding of guilty.

A "charge" of DUI does not hamper your ability to get any driver's license.

SECOND:

If you have a Commercial Driver's License, even if you were not in a commercial vehicle, will cary a mandatory one year loss of the CDL.

A second offense DUI while using a CDL, even if in a private vehicle, is a ban for life on obtaining a CDL. ("Life," but with the possibility of a once in a lifetime reapplication after 10 years without a CDL).
