Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Can adoption be reversed if all partys are in agreement

I have a daughter by someone other than my wife. I signed adoption agreement for her to be adopted at age 6 by her mothers husband. My daughters adopted father and her mother are now divorced and her mother has remarried. I was reunited with my daughter on July 2, 2004 after I was contacted by the family she was living with ( Non-Relatives ). They were awarded custody by the court for child abandonment after her mother had became involved in drugs. I presently have temporary full custody with a court date of Sept,1,2004 for permanent custody. Her mother has no job or source of income and I am more than willing and able to provide for all her needs both financially, educational and stable emotional enviroment and home. My question is, can the adoption be reversed. The adopted father lives out of state and is in agreement to the adoption dissolution.

Thank You,

While I doubt you can "reverse" the adoption, you should be able to adopt her now and being the natural parent should give you a leg up. I suggest you contact an adoption lawyer in your area. Good luck.
