Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Grandparents Rights

Five years ago my father-in-law wrote us a letter saying he was legally disowning my husband. We now have a 4 month old baby. He has made no attempt to contact us since her birth or before. My question is, can he sue us for Grandparental visitation rights? Or by him disowning his son did that sever all legal ties he would have to a grandchild?
