Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Any legal time restricitons for contested divorces

Are there any provisions for time limits regarding contested divorces. I am looking for local rules, state, or federal. Or possibly rules that would pertain to the circuit court judge in this area.

I have been waiting for years.

Re: Any legal time restricitons for contested divorces

I get the impression you want to know if there is any period of time by which a court is REQUIRED to decide a divorce case.... and I know of none. The real question is how hard your attorney is pressing to get the matter decided. If it has been around a long time, your attorney should be able to demand that it be decided in the near future. Talk with your attorney.... or GET an attorney to do it for you..
