Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Religion

While my husband was married to his ex-wife, they did not attend church. However, he allowed their first daughter to be baptized in the catholic church (she is catholic, he is pentacostal).During their separation, they both began attending church again in their respective churches. They were separated when their second daughter was born, and he was not present at her baptism.

My question.....what are the laws pertaining to religious decisions? His ex-wife is openly negative and dismissive of our beliefs. If we were to confront her, could she prevent us from taking the children to church with us? Thank you!

Re: Religion

Usually, unless the parents have made an agreement in the Parenting Plan or their Final Decree of Divorce on what religion to raise the children or what church not to take them to, there should be nothing they can do from preventing you from taking the children to your church.
