Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Time frame!!

I am filing my own divorce papers. However, I am planning to have my lawyer look them over to ensure that everything is in order. My question is, would the preceedings move along faster if my lawyer were to file the papers for me or does it really matter? And also if the divorce is uncontested, with two(2) minor children, no property to seperate, have not co-habitated same residence for over six(6) years and we are in agreeance on all issues with the children, would it be neccesary to have a lawyer and how does it usually take for judge to sign final decree?

Re: Time frame!!

Even in an uncontested divorce without significant property, there are statutory provisions to be met. Pursuant to the Parenting Plan Law, the parents must take the parenting seminar; also there are issues of child support, visitation and the statutory time limits that apply. Trying to accomplish this without an attorney is not going to be an effective use of resources nor will it be easier or less expensive than employing an attorney.
