Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Tennessee

Consignment

I put an engagement ring on consignment in Sept 2007 at a jewelry store. It finally sold in December of 2008, I have yet to receive any funds from the sale of this ring. When I speak to the jewelry store owner, he keeps telling me that they need to work out their books and that he will call me when he has the money well I gave him 30 days from the final sale of the ring and contacted him, now he is telling me that it is rough times for people and that basically he sold it to someone on credit and that they have not paid him yet, therefore he cannot pay me. What rights do I have?

Re: Consignment

Your rights are going to be controlled by the contract you signed with store owner giving him the right to sell your property.
