Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Tennessee

My ex fiance and I were going to move in together. I agreed to put a mortage in my name if she would help with the down payment. Too make a long story short she gave me the money and I purchased the home. We ended up not getting married and her not moving in. I have been paying her the money back monthly as agreed at the time of the breakup. Now she is getting nasty is demanding full payment and is threating to sue me. I agree I owe her the money and have been making regular agreed upon payments. If she sues me will the judge take into consideration I have made regular payments.

It is most likely that you will still be liable for the money and you also may be liable for court costs. However, in general sessions courts you can file a motion to set installment payments if you are found liable and she won't be able to garnish your wages or take other collection actions.
