If someone hits me and the accdnt is thier fault and they admit it to the officer - if they want to settle-Is there a time frame I have to turn into ins if I find out he is pulling my leg and plans not to settle

You should be very careful about waiting, especially in Tennessee. Tennessee has a 1 year statute of limitations that could prohibit you from recovering from the defendant if you haven't filed your case.

I would suggest that you contact an attorney in order to evaluate your claim. I am licensed in Arkansas and Tennessee and would be available to assist you should you want to discuss your case further.

Good luck.

Re: Auto Accdnt Nashville TN

Minimums in TN are 25K per person / 50K per occurrence. If your Dad elected to have UM coverage of his own that had limits greater than the 25/50 minimums required of the primary carrier, you may be able to receive additional money from his UM carrier. If his UM coverage was only 25/50, his carrier gets an offset for the 25K the primary carrier may pay.
