Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Tennessee

towing a car from property for expired tags

The apartment manager slapped a 5' x 7'' green tag on the windshield of my vehicle (in the line of vision) saying that I have ten days to remove the vehicle or get new tags. I cannot drive the vehicle in the condition it is in due to the tag. 1) do they have the right to demand that my vehicle be registered? 2) do they have the right to place a tag on my vehicle rendering it immovable ''to get your attention'' as the manager put it? 3) do I have the right to demand that they clean off the label?

Often times lease agreements require tenants to be in compliance with local and state regulations. If you are not a tenant, you are an invitee and they do have the right to have you in compliance. No they should not have put the label where it obstructed your vision. You can demand that they remove the label but that does not necessarily mean they will do it.
