Among the controversy of explaining beyond a resonable doubt- does the constitution require that trial courts define reasonable doubt?

The definition of "reasonable doubt" is part of the instruction given to every jury by the judge. Attorneys can help teh judge draft the way it's explained, but at the end of the day, the judge decides how the jury should be told about this standard.
