Legal Question in Personal Injury in Tennessee

Medicare

I was involved in an automobile accident and was injured. As I am on Medicare, they paid some on these bills. When I settle with the automobile insurance company, will I have to pay the money Medicare paid back to Medicare? If I do not have to pay the Medicare money back, can you tell me where I can locate the guidelines/policy that states I do not have to pay it back.

Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Medicare

Plan on paying part of it back. Medicare will consider the value of the settlement, the costs expanded in reaching the settlement, any attorney fees etc. and then give you a value that they will accept for its subrogation interest.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
