Legal Question in Personal Injury in Tennessee

Mulit vechicle accident..being sued!
My husband was involved in an accident with 4 vechicles. He was stopped behind another vechicle waiting to turn into a business. A truck carrying a tractor hit my husband from behind, which pushed my husband into the car in front of him knocking that car out of the way and then my husband hit the car sitting in the parking lot waiting to turn out in the highway. The guy driving the vechicle that hit my husband was the only one faulted. We have a police report stating my husband was sitting stopped in the highway waiting to turn. The guy whose fault it was didn't own the vechicle but the owner's insurance paid. All of the vechicles were totaled except the guy's that caused it, there were injuries in the accident. . Sorry to be so long but: We are being sued from the 1st vechicle my husband hit. This was in June, 04. Can he sue us? He didn't file with our insurance,we had an attorney at the time and we have already settled with the insurance company that was at fault. Thanks any suggestion would be appreciated.
