Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Tennessee

Home Repairs

I purchased my home in June of 2007. I had a home inspection conducted and there were a few minor repairs needed, but nothing major was found. Recently I noticed that the floor in my bathroom was getting soft. I decided to tear up the existing wood laminate (laid by the previous owner just prior to selling the home) and let the sub floor dry out and re-tile the floor myself. What I discovered was absolutley horrible. On top of the original subfloor, he had laid very cheap thin wood. I pulled it up to try to get to the original floor and found that the entire thing was COVERED in mold. There were parts that had rotted out that he replaced with small pieces of wood here and there and all the drywall in the bath is crumbling and falling apart now. My question is since he obviously knew about the pre-existing mold and mildew condition and tried to cover it up and stated in the property dislosure that there were absolutely no issues with mold in the house, wouldn't he be responsible for paying for the renovations that we now HAVE to do to our bathroom?
