in tennessee, does a power of attorney have to be notarized and/or witnessed?

A power of attorney must be notarized in Tennessee, but does not require witnesses.

Tennessee does not require a POA to be either notarized or witnessed. It is good between the parties without either. HOWEVER, it is not likely that you will get anyone to accept the POA for use in a transaction without the POA being signed before a notary.
