Legal Question in Workers Comp in Tennessee

Impairment Rating

My husband was given an impairment rating of 2% for his leg. He fractured his leg and ankle chasing a perp. His bi-weekly wage was approx $620.00. He no longer works for the Sherrif's Dept due to insurance, however he does have a job currently. He is speaking to the Worker's Comp lady this week, and we were wondering what is fair. We just want what is fair, and cover the money we lost. We went severly into debt over this accident, and we just want to climb out of the hole we're in.

Re: Impairment Rating

It is difficult to give an opinion as to value without looking at the medical records. A 2% rating, however, seems fairly low. Has he recovered from his injury? Could he return to work at the Sherrit's dept if he wanted to. If he quit the Sherif's department and informed them he was quiting because of insurance and not his injury he may have a difficult time getting beyond the caps. feel free to call me or email me at [email protected]
