Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Texas

Second Attempt to Collect after Bankruptcy Discharge

Vangeff, Williams and Associates was hired to attempt to collect a bill for Nursing Home -a SECOND ATTEMPT.They claim they were not aware of the bankruptcy, but made an inquiry into my credit-which clearly indicates the bankruptcy.

My issue is with the Nursing Home doing this for a SECOND time after receiving notice from the Court and a certified letter from me. I received a Discharge Notice just over 2 years ago. In 2001 McAllen Nursing Center tried to collect this bill, sending it in care of my sister - who had nothing to do with the account. I verified with the US Bankruptcy Court that they were listed as a creditor and they were sent Court notices. I then sent them a letter with the Discharge information. I was told that they would immediately have this taken care of. Now, my brother is receiving messages that are left for me (or my parents) to call. I was 34 when I became ill - my parents are not responsible for my bill. I am upset that McAllen Nursing Center illegally continues their efforts. My illness has caused my entire family enough stress, we do not need this. What can I do? What are my remedies to insure that in another year I am not having to deal with this again?

You may have a claim for damages for violations of the discharge injunction. You should consult with an attorney.
