Chapter 7
I am the process of filing chapter 7 bankruptcy (doing it myself) I am only in the beginning stages, am I allowed to continue to use my credit cards, such as gas cards, etc. while I am going through the process as long as I dont abuse them? Or will I be penalized by the trustee?

Re: Chapter 7
Once you have decided to file bankruptcy you should not incur any debts unless you intend to pay them fully before you file (such as a charge card for gasoline). Credit card charges for cash advances and luxury items made within 60 days of filing are presumed to be nondischargeable. Finally, I caution you against filing without the assistance of an attorney. There is more involved in the filing of a bankruptcy than filling out paper work. Your interests are best served by having the advise of an experienced bankruptcy attorney.
