Legal Question in Business Law in Texas

What is an End User
We were having a discussion about who is classified as a middleman in business. Our quandary is what denotes the beginning and the end user. Is the end user the consumer or is it the store that they purchase from. Who is the manufacture the company that gathers the raw material or the company that creates the product?

Say a company pumps oil from the ground and sells it to a refiner, who is the manufacture, the refiner of the extractor of the oil? The product may pass through many hands before the customer gets the gas and uses it in the car. Who is the end user the person selling the gas or the person buying the gas? If there are simple answers please explain, if they are complex please refer us to reading material.
