Legal Question in Business Law in Texas

I have been threaten by the company I worked for

I worked for this company for about 1 year but before I start working officially for this company I developed a system base on PHP and MySQL (programming languages) and then after that the owner hired me. I never signed any contract or anything that gives the company full right on the codes. So after I left the company I started improving my codes and selling them. I got an email from the company's owner saying that he will sue me because I am using his codes and also saying that I have been using the company's name to market myself even know I only used the company's name on my resume. Now the worst part is that I am living in the USA illegally because I came as a student and I lost the status and he knows that.

Is there any way that he can use it against me to send me back to my country on any thing of this sort?

Whether you have a copyright interest or have a confidentiality obligation is something you should discuss with a lawyer. You have a serious imigration issue, too. It is also something you will need to discuss with an expert. Trying to solve these problems in a public forum, like this one, is not a good idea.
