Legal Question in Business Law in Texas

If I am a wholesaler who has a longstanding business relatioship with a retailer, and I delivered an time worth $1200.00 for him to sell but it is stolen after he has it 10 days, who should bear the loss?

Depends on how highly you value the relationship - this is the non-legal answer. Legally, since the retailer had possession, the loss is his, not yours. You don't "legally" have to pay for anything. Business take on it? - if you value the relationship, why not offer to pay for half? He knows already, or should, that the loss is all his, but such an offer might really tie him to you as a business partner. Just a suggestion to consider.
