Can Rent tries file criminal charges

I need to find out if you rent some rims from Rent tries in Houston, TX and my car was repo on march 26, 08. The people whohave my car will not give me the tires back and not willing to give the tires back to Rent tries. can they file criminal charges on us. I dont have the car are the tries? What do I need to do?

Hello there,

You need to find out if it was for rent or it was rent to own?

If rent to own, there is case law out there that states that the case is a civil matter and should be handled in civilly rather that through the criminal courts.

In a rent situation and you are not returning the product back to the rental company you can be charged with theft charges.

You should inform the rental company that your car was repossessed so they can retrieve their property.
