Does supervising mechanic need certification?
In a delivery/sales type business that is required to use DOT inspection logs, doesn't the head mechanic have to be certified though a school or the state? My spouse was in an accident because the ''head'' mechanic failed to correct the brake problem on a bobtail truck company owned. He reported the incident 7 times thru the log book and was never signed off on. Eventually an accident occured with this bobtail, my husband got his neck and back injuried so the company's safety commitee demeed the accident preventable to avoid paying meds and terminated my husbands employment. Please give me insight where I need to turn for help!

Assuming that the injury occured in the course and scope of the job, and the employer is a non-subscriber to Worker's Compensation insurance, the driver in question may hold the company liable for his injuries due to negligence in failing to maintain the truck in a safe maner.
