Copyright Infringment Question

Hi,

I would like to legally purchase some software and install it on a server. This software is sold specifically with the understanding that the person who holds the license will have to tailor it to that user's specific needs. (Think about purchasing Microsoft Word and then setting up a special chart to be used.) My question is I would like to sell the tailored product that I make to clients. Are there any copyright infringements involved if I have purchased the software legally?

Thanks.

Re: Copyright Infringment Question

Unless you are granted specific rights to sell and/or distribute derivative works of the software, those actions would appear to violate the terms of the agreement as well infringe upon the licensor's copyright. I would not be able to give you a more definitive answer without seeing the applicable license agreement.
