Image Copyrights

If I buy baseball cards, does that give me the right to use them in any way I wish for commercial sell? i.e. scanning, collages, etc.

No. Scanning reproductions of the cards for commercial purposes would be copyright infringement. Copying cards in collages is still copying them and infringes multiple copyrights all at once. If you do this on a very limited scale or not for resale and not for commercial gain you might be under the "radar screen" of copyright owners and escape liability, but you are still operating illegally. Penalties for such willful copyright infringement can be pretty severe, so be careful.
