Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Texas

Unfinished residential job

We had a construction company which we made a contract with to add a room and stairs to our home for $6000.00. They started the job, quit, and left the state. Since then, I have spent over $7000.00 and still needs another $3000.00 more according to the current construction company we had to get due to the work previously started. My question is if we can some whou have the 1st construciton company pay the difference from the initial contract?

Howdy:

Did you pay the first company $6000, or only agree to pay them? It doesn't affect the answer; I'm only curious.

You are entitled to recover from then the difference between what they agreed to do the job for and what the job cost after they breached the contract.

You can also recover any money you paid them that they didn't earn.

The trick, of course, will be to find them.
