Bankruptcy and Judgements

I terminated a car lease early . The company now wants me to pay the negative balance. I was told they could possibly sue me and win a judgment. If they get the judgement could they garnish my wages and [ut a lien on my property?

If yes, can I protect myself by filing bankruptcy?

Chapter 42 of the Texas Property Code lists property exempt from judgments. Current wages is one of the listings (but note that cash on hand and funds in a bank are not so listed). You may find a link to that law on my links page from:
