Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

had hail damage, filed insurance claim, contractor finished, I signed the first two small checks to them but the third and largest one I spent. I am disabled and paid my blls. Now they are threatening me over the phone, mail, person with lien against my house and/or theft of services a jail offense felony. I offered to pay them $500.00 month until the 7,000 is paid but they said their company was not a bak. I have never been in trouble before what do I do. this is in El Paso, Texas

You owe them the money.

I assume you don't have the $7000 to pay them.

You best option is probably to just start sending them a $500 check each month; my guess is that they will cash it.
