Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

Judgment?

I defaulted on a mobile home loan in May of 2002. I moved from Texas to Indiana during that time. I received an accounting of the sale of the mobile home and the total amount due at my current address, but have not been served for a suit. I moved 6 mos. after moving to IN, but they haven't had a problem finding me now, do I need to be worried that there is a judgment against me? I am getting calls from a collection agency now, but under the contract they are supposed to use Texas law, which says there is a 4 year statute of limitation for collecting debt, but I know it is longer if there is a judgment.

Re: Judgment?

I do not practice in Texas and do not know Texas law, so I will pass on trying to answer your question. I will point out that if the amount is high enough, they could file in Indiana.
